A Very Happy Thanksgiving

Sometimes I get a bit selfish, I admit. I decided I really wanted to spend some time with my sons, just the two of them along with my Hubby. In the past we seemed to spend a lot of Thanksgivings together so I asked them to please come for Thanksgiving week. I am so grateful to my daughter-in-law and my four grandsons for sacrificing the "boys" for my special week. Within minutes of their arrival, it was as if the nearly five year separation had only been a few days. I laughed, I cried, we cooked, we ate, we had a wonderful time. I had a list of honey do chores for them and they ripped through it. The biggest task was to move the living room furniture into one end of our craft studio and then to move the bedroom into what had been the living room. Now I am ready for when the stairs become too much for me. The new bedroom is nice and cozy. My youngest son had to fly home the day after Thanksgiving so he could go back to work. My older son stayed a few more days, long enough to be here when I had one of my bad spells. Needless to say, it frightened him. He went out the next day and bought me a tablet and three Echo Dots. Now I have three Siris and three Alexas that will do my bidding without my lifting a finger! Of course I feel like I am surrounded by spies as well! But, in addition to the three cats I talk to, now I have plenty of excuses to talk to myself throughout the day!

I seem to be doing somewhat better with the Immunotherapy than with Chemotherapy. I don't feel quite as fatigued although I still sleep over 10 hours each night. I have had issues with vomiting but we can't figure out why it happens. My oncologist thinks it is mainly from stress. Hopefully, if the Immunotherapy begins to shrink the tumors and lesions, my body will not experience as much stress. He believes the treatment is working because one of the rashes I have is indicative of good progress. Sure hope so, because the rash is nasty! I have another nasty rash on my face and scalp. It looks like a severe case of acne. Yuck! I notice my hair is thinning with the scalp issue. So now I have skinny legs, skinny arms, and skinny hair! LOL.

I have been keeping busy with projects that need to be done for Christmas. I am finishing a child's quilt I began years ago. I have one grandson left that is young enough to enjoy it. So I want to get it to him ASAP so he can cuddle in it as he watches Christmas programs or while reading Christmas books etc. I pieced it on the machine, but am doing the actual quilting by hand. I also have some holiday knitting to get done in time. So I think that now I have reminded myself of all I have to do, I better wrap this up and get going on that quilt!

Later.......
